The original photographs were loaned to the San Francisco
Maritime National Historical Park in 2001 for duplication by
Elizabeth Laflin Gawf, great granddaughter of James
Laflin.

Biography
James Laflin, a shipping agent who acquired crews for San
Francisco ships, conducted business from ca. 1850 to 1890. His son, Peter
J. Laflin, occasionally carried on the trade.
