    The contents of this folder are the photocopies of seven handwritten letters and envelopes written by Jefferson Bridgeford to his wife, Margaret E. Bridgeford, and his child, Eugene, in Paris, Monroe County, Missouri, during the year 1850. The dates of the letters and the places from which the letters were sent are as follows: Sacramento, January 25; Maryesville (sic) (Fremont), April 2; Fort Chiles (?), May 28; Platt Ferry, June 20; South Irafs (?), June 28; Navada (sic) City, July 23; Sacramento, October 26. Jefferson Bridgeford writes about weather and work conditions as a store owner, his health, the health of his companions, matters of business, and his travels around and out of the state.
