Biographical/Historical Sketch

Albert Howard Clodius studied history at Stanford University before and after World War II. He later taught at Ventura College and Northrop University in Southern California.

Description of the Collection

Collection consists of letters written to his former professor Harold Bradley while Clodius was in the service during World War II; he was based in Florida and then Africa. Subjects include basic training, camp experiences, descriptions of fellow soldiers including their dialects, observations of African peoples, an account of social activities of British soldiers, complaints on inactivity, and trips to Egypt, Palestine, and Italy.
