Description
Donald Eaton Carr (1903- ) was the author of various articles and 7 books. The collection consists of manuscripts, galleys, and related correspondence. The manuscripts for Carr's books in the collection focus primarily on water and air pollution.
Background
Carr was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 17, 1903; BS, UC Berkeley, 1930; married Mildred Clarke, 1934; reporter, Portland Oregonian, 1922-26; research chemist and later research manager, Union Oil Company, 1930-47; consultant, assistant director of fuels and lubricants division, and deputy director of research, Phillips Petroleum Company, 1947-65; served on Petroleum Industry War Council during World War Two; author of various articles and 7 books.
