Scope and Content of Collection
The Office of Architects and Engineers collection contains plans, reports, and committee minutes relating to the design and
construction of campus buildings and facilities. The collection generally covers the period of the university's history when
it was still the Santa Barbara College, in 1950-1979. The Office of Architects and Engineers was a subdivision of the Office
of the Vice Chancellor. Campus Design and Facilities Management, also a subdivision of the Office of the Vice Chancellor,
now manages the same issues and projects as the Office of Architects and Engineers. The files are arranged as received, generally
in chronological order.
