Background
The San Dieguito Boys' Club, a part of Boy's Clubs of America, was organized to help meet the needs of youth in the fast-growing San Dieguito area. Through the efforts of the Encinitas Optimist Club and the San Dieguito Kiwanis Club, the San Dieguito Boys' Club was founded in October, 1966. The first clubhouse was opened in a motel recreation room on Highway 101 and A Street in Encinitas.
