    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection contains Civil War and later items, of Robert L. McConnell, a Union lieutenant with the Ohio Infantry, 8th Regiment. Includes two letters to friend Mary Williams of Medina, OH, 1861-1862, and one from Mary C. McConnell to her granddaughter, 1866, along with a daguerreotype (presumably of McConnell), a pin (with the inscription "Winchester, Antietam, Fredricksburg, Chancelorville, Gettysburg"), four Masonic pins, and two 1893 Columbian Exposition coins.
