    Abstract: Palos Verdes Library District's photograph collection includes images of historical interest to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and surrounding Los Angeles County area. Images document schools, churches, lighthouses, residential, and public buildings. Famous locations include Wayfarer's Chapel, La Venta Inn, Marine Land, and the Point Vicente Lighthouse. Formats include panoramic and aerial photographs. A gift from the Palos Verdes Homes Association, most of the pictures originally appeared in the Palos Verdes Bulletin, published from November 1924 through October 1931 as the area's first newsletter.     Project Information

    These photographs were selected from photograph collections in the Palos Verdes Library District's Local History Room and digitized as part of a one-year statewide project ("California Local History Digital Resources") from July 2005 through July 2006 in order to provide a single access point to primary graphic resources documenting the history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Project work was supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
