Biographical/Historical Sketch
Professor of psychology at Stanford University, 1962-1984, following teaching appointments
at the University of Colorado and Harvard University. A fellow of the American Psychological
Association, Mischel received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution award from the
Association for outstanding contributions to personality theory and assessment in 1982.
