development. The collection consists of correspondence, papers, clippings, photographs, ephemera, and printed materials.

Scope and Content Note
Correspondence, papers, clippings, photographs, ephemera and printed matter concerning Los Angeles, truck manufacturing in
Los Angeles, and the memorial committees for William B. Mathews, Ezra F. Scattergood and Harvey A. Van Norman, and for William
Mulholland. The material on Los Angeles concerns freeways, the Department of Water and Power, city government and the Colorado
River water projects. Also included are various California imprints, ca. 1911-1958, and programs of banquets and club meetings
in Los Angeles.
W.L. Moreland was owner of the Moreland Motor Truck Company, the first motor transport company in Southern California. He
was also active in water development in the Southern California area.
