    Biography

    James M. Cramer, Democrat, was a State Assembly Member, 1981-1982. His 65th Assembly District represented cities within the counties of Los Angeles and San Bernardino.
    Cramer was born on October 14, 1931 in Sullivan, Oklahoma and established residence in California in 1947. He attended the College of Marin where he earned an A.A. degree and the University of the Redlands where he earned his B.A. degree. Cramer then attended University of California, Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law where he earned a juris doctor (J.D.) degree. Before entering politics, Cramer was an Attorney and a former District Attorney of San Bernardino County. He married his wife Betty with whom he had two children: Claire and David.
    In addition to his political activities, James Cramer served as past President of the San Bernardino County Bar Association and past Chairman of the State Bar Association. He participated on the Standing Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure, the California District Attorney's Association's Legislative Committee, AB90 Committee for San Bernardino County, the Tri County Council on Criminal Justice for the San Bernardino area, the Board of Directors for the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and the Media-Bench-Bar Committee of San Bernardino County. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 112, the First United Methodist Church, Rotary, Elks Lodge 1419, the Inland Area Urban League, and the Ontario Museum Association.
    James Cramer was elected to the State Assembly in 1980 and served through 1982.
