    1925 Born in Osnabrück, Germany
    1945 Co-founded and joined the SPD in Gardelegen, East Germany
    1948 May 21 Arrested for contacts with the Ostbűro of the SPD
    1949 April 14 Sentenced to 25 years of prison
    1956 December 21 Released from prison (Bautzen)
    1957 January 21 Fled to West Berlin with his parents
    1959 May 1 Started working as a journalist for Die demokratische Gemeinde in Bad Godesberg
    1967 April 1 Moved to Rüsselsheim, where he took on the job of spokesman for the SPD mayor of the city and where he still lives today
    1999 Author, Geliebtes Leben: Erlebtes und Ertragenes zwischen den Mahlsteinen jűngster deutscher Geschichte
