Historical Note:
The Retired Officers Association (ROA) is the largest military officer association in the nation, formed in 1929, dedicated
to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving members' earned entitlements and benefits, as well as the entitlements
and benefits of their families.
The ROA's 385 local chapters are essentially autonomous and self-supporting units. Activities of the San Diego Chapter include
periodic luncheons and dinners with featured speakers, recognition programs for local and Junior ROTC units, programs of interest
to the local community, and assistance to members, their families, and survivors in time of need. Special interest task forces
address issues of national and local interest to ROA members.
