History

The California Association of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists (CA-ARPE) was founded on June 26, 1979 in Fresno, California. This organization developed out of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists (ARPE). The CA-ARPE represented only resident members of ARPE who lived in California.
The CA-ARPE was a statewide non-profit organization that had three divisions. These divisions were a Northern Division (Northern California), Central Division (Central California), and a Southern Division (Southern California). The members were all professional entomologists. According to the bylaws, the purpose for the CA-ARPE was to enhance "the contributions of professional entomologists to the people of California and to society."
