Biography
Reverend William Edward Wallner was born in Poland in 1904. He was the only survivor of eleven children in his family. The
rest of his family lost their lives during the Holocaust.
Rev. Dr. Wallner was Chaplain General of the Polish Army for many years leading up to World War II and also a member of the
pre-war Polish Cabinet. After the war he became Pastor of the 6000 member Lutheran Church in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He became
a U.S. citizen in early 1955 and settled in San Bernadino area where he took up photography.
William Wallner died in April 1988 at the age of 84.
Scope and Content of Collection
This collection contains 61 (16 x 20) mounted silver gelatin studio portrait photographs and 13 (8 x 10) and 2 (16 x 20) photographic
art reproductions taken and exhibited by Wallner during the 1960s.
