Biography

Agnes Kun was a translator of Russian literature into Hungarian and maintained extensive correspondence with Russian writers.

Collection Scope and Content Summary

The collection is a document of Hungarian Russian literary relations, an interesting and so far poorely documented aspect. It is also a document of the period of destalinization of Russian literature. Among authors whose manuscripts are represented in the collection are: a sizeable collection of letters and poems (several hundreds) by Leonid Martynov and smaller collections of letters by N. Tlkhonov, N. Zabolotsky, A. Fadeev, R. Samoilov possibly a few others. Of particular interest are also some Boris Pasternak authographs especially regarding his work on Hugarian writer Petofi.
