Music in Contemporary Life Collection, 14, Performing Arts Special Collections, University of California, Los Angeles.
Collection consists mostly of contributors'
papers, with brochures, programs, correspondence,
clippings, and other documents relating to the
Institute. The Institute was sponsored by the UCLA
Department of Music and the Musicians Congress and
was held Sept. 14-17, 1944. Contributors include
Hoagy Carmichael, Mario Castelnuevo-Tedesco,
Morton Gould, Roy Harris, Alfred Newman, Lawrence
Clark Powell, Miklós Rózsa, and Artie Shaw.
