Description
Harry E. Blake was a member of the Alhambra City Council (1945-56) and served as mayor of Alhambra (1961). The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and clippings of Harry E. Blake as well as publications and other documentation related to Blake's role as a civic leader in Alhambra. There is also material related to water resources.
Background
Blake was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota; served as an associate hydraulic engineer for the State of California in 1930s; city engineer and street superintendent of Alhambra, 1925-27; member, Alhambra City Council, 1945-56; mayor, city of Alhambra, 1961; died, 1964.
