Thomas Wicksteed. Mechanical engineer, Engineer to the London Sewage Company, 1847, dissolved 1848. Formed and managed Patent Solid Sewage Company at Leicester 1851-65. One of the group of engineers opposed by Chadwick. In Leicester Chadwick tried to prevent Wicksteed's appointment. R. Stevenson stepped in to defend him.
