of Lopez de Fages' drafts, correspondence, and notes. Materials in this collection are dated from 1935-1949.

Isabel Lopez de Fages (1902 July 24 - 1985 July 10) wrote the introduction and descriptions in the book of Eva Scott Fenyes
paintings
Thirty-two Adobe Houses of Old California. Lopez de Fages also contributed historical articles to the
Los Angeles Times and other publications. She was one of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, and served as Chairman of Hostesses at the
Casa de Adobe of the Southwest Museum. In 1925, she married Aphonse B. de Fages (1905 March 23 - 1989 August 23), who was
born in California and of Spanish and French descent.
This manuscript collection contains descriptions written by Isabel Lopez de Fages for the paintings made by Eva Scott Fenyes
for the 1950 publication of the book
Thirty-two Adobe Houses of Old California. This collection of papers includes the manuscript Isabel Lopez de Fages presented to the Southwest Museum for almost all
300 paintings by Fenyes, as well as all of Lopez de Fages' drafts, correspondence, and notes. Other materials include two
photographs, a newspaper clipping, and notes. Materials in this collection are dated from 1935-1949.
