    Biography/Organization History

The California Democratic State Central Committee (CDSCC) coordinates all Democratic Party activities in the State. It was created to publicize and promote the work of the Democratic Party in California, conduct fundraising and campaigns at county, state, and local levels, disseminate literature on election campaigns and legislative issues, manage volunteer efforts, and maintain a state headquarters for the party. The CDSCC has been in existence since at least 1928 and was responsible for establishing the California Democratic Council (CDC) in 1953, an important grassroots organization comprised of nearly 500 local political clubs which support and endorse local democratic candidates during election years.
