    Biography

    James Sheldon was born in New York City, NY and received his bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina in 1941. Sheldon's directing career began with radio projects in the mid 1940's but he quickly moved onto television projects. His numerous directing credits include Kay OBrien, Room 222, Adventures of Ellery Queen, My World and Welcome to it, Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law, and McMillan and Wife.

    Scope and Content

    Collection consists primarily of television series scripts along with scripts for television pilots and television movies related to the career of director James Sheldon. Includes scripts for 78 program titles, some with annotations made by the director and/or producer. Programs represented include McMillan & and Wife, Naked City, Room 222, and Route 66, among others.Also includes scripts for the radio series Crimes of Carelessness (1946-47) directed by Sheldon.
