Collection consists primarily of television series scripts along with scripts for television pilots and television movies
related to the career of director James Sheldon. Shows represented include
McMillan & and Wife,
Naked City,
Room 222, and
Route 66, among others. Also includes scripts for the radio series
Crimes of Carelessness.
Background
James Sheldon was born in New York City, NY and received his bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina in 1941.
Sheldon's directing career began with radio projects in the mid 1940's but he quickly moved onto television projects. His
numerous directing credits include
Kay OBrien,
Room 222,
Adventures of Ellery Queen,
My World and Welcome to it,
Owen Marshall,
Counselor at Law, and
McMillan and Wife.
