Biography/Administrative History
Four-S Bakery was founded in Los Angeles in 1922. Donor John Mieding began at Four-S and finished his career as Western Regional
Manager of Interstate Brands Corporation. Four-S Bakery first merged with other baking companies into Western Bakeries and
later Interstate Bakeries Corp. (reorganized into Interstate Brands Corporation).

Business records and photographs pertaining to Four-S Bakery, Interstate Brands Corporation, Good Stuff Bakery, and Good Stuff
Food Company, Inc. Covers operations and statistics of the bread and commercial bakery industry in southern California. Contains
a manuscript titled "A Story About a Bakery, Four-S Bakery, 1922-2000" written by Elmer Pedrotti, Joe Tarro and John Mieding,
chronicling company history and subsequent mergers through facts, anecdotes, humor, and remembrances. Also a collection of
dinner programs/menus from the Les Amis d'Escoffier Society. 1942-2005, undated (bulk 1963-1995)
