Abstract: This is a manuscript entitled "Back to the Ranch" by Jess Ranker as told to Jess Burnham-Ranker, from conversations Jess Burnham-Ranker
had with her father, Jess Ranker, between 1969 and 1975, regarding Jess Ranker's life on a cattle ranch in northeastern California,
his youth in and around Chico, California, and his experiences as a young adult in a mining town in northeastern Nevada. The
manuscript includes tipped-in certificates, correspondence, newspaper clippings from 1910-1912, and copies of photographs
from the same era.

Jesse Elwood Ranker was born June 1888 on a ranch in northeastern California and died in autumn of 1975.
This is a manuscript entitled "Back to the Ranch" by Jess Ranker as told to Jess Burnham-Ranker. The manuscript is the transcript
to a collection of conversations Jess Burnham-Ranker had with her father, Jess Ranker, between 1969 and 1975, regarding Jess
Ranker's life on a cattle ranch in northeastern California, his youth in and around Chico, California, and his experiences
as a young adult in a mining town in northeastern Nevada. The manuscript includes tipped-in certificates, correspondence,
