    Biography

    John Frankenheimer was an American director and producer active in film most from 1957 to 2001. During the 1950s he directed approximately 125 live television shows and later returned to direct several television assigments in the 1980s and 1990s.

    The John Frankenheimer papers span the years 1954-1997 (bulk 1960s-1980s) and encompass approximately 46.8 linear feet and 34 posters. The majority of the collection is comprised of papers and photographs. The collection also includes scrapbooks for some of Frankenheimer's films, as well as television files and subject files.
