Description
The Carmen Ramos Chandler Collection documents Chandler's term as president of the Los Angeles Newspaper Guild (LANG) and her work at California State University, Northridge during her time as a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News. The material within the collection dates from 1987 to 1996.
Background
Carmen Ramos worked as a newspaper reporter for nearly 17 years, most recently with the Los Angeles Daily News, where she covered Los Angeles' minority communities while also reporting on higher education and serving as a general assignment reporter. She covered the 1992 Los Angeles Riots and the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Chandler is the Director of Media Relations at California State University, Northridge.
