The collection documents the activities
of the Orange County (OC) chapter of the Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)
national organization. Records of PFLAG OC include scrapbooks, clippings, and newsletters
dating from 1978-2008 (bulk, 1989-2003).
Background
The National organization of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) was founded
in 1972 in New York, NY. Their mission is to support, educate and advocate for lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. PFLAG has over 350 chapters in the United States
including numerous chapters throughout California.
