Administrative History

"Camp" Camp was founded in 1996 by real estate developer William Cole, and was created to provide an alternative vacation for LGBT individuals to enjoy a youth summer camp-like experience and engage in outdoor recreational activities. The camp is located in Kezar Falls, Maine. Situated between two lakes, the secluded property features cabins and camp buildings, such as a theater, a recreation center, craft studios, tennis courts and a main lodge building. The camp offers a full program of outdoor, athletic, and arts and crafts activities along with evening social events. The first annual Camp Camp was held in 1997, with 88 people attending that first year. As of 2013, Camp Camp continues to operate, and the annual event is typically attended by over 200 people.
