Description
Dennis G. Raveling served as Professor of Wildlife and Fisheries Biology at the University of California, Davis from 1971-1991. The collection contains files from Raveling's Canada Goose Study in Manitoba and Rochester, Minnesota, his research data files, as well as publications by and about him.
Background
Dennis Graff Raveling was born on February 28, 1939 in Devil's Lake, North Dakota. He received a B.S. in Zoology at Southern Illinois University, and M.S. in Zoology at the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in Zoology at Southern Illinois University in 1967. He worked as a research scientist with the Canadian Wildlife Service from 1967 to 1970. He joined the University of California, Davis faculty as an Assistant Professor of Wildlife Biology in 1971.
