Abstract: William Hill Topping was born in 1885 in Maberley, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Topping arrived in Foochow, China in November 1911
supported by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. He served there from 1911-1947 in various capacities
including teacher, District Secretary and Associate General Secretary of the Mid-Fukien Synod of the Church of Christ in China.
He retired to Whittier California in 1947.

Scope and Contents
The Collection consists of 16 daily diaries kept by Mr. Topping after his retirement, from 1947 to 1968. Entries include references
to speaking engagements and churches attended in Whittier and other Los Angeles area cities, as well as lists of correspondents,
expenses and occasional notes on lectures attended.
