Description
The Marcia Nasatir papers span the years 1969-1992 and encompass 3.8 linear feet. The collection contains production material for three films produced by Nasatir along with some additional correspondence and deal memos and some files on unproduced properties. For THE BIG CHILL (1983) there are clippings, correspondence, distribution statements, and memos; for HAMBURGER HILL (1987) a shooting script and production material; and production material for IRONWEED (1987).
Background
Marcia Nasatir is a film producer and production executive active since the mid-1970s. She began her career as a book editor and literary agent. In 1974 she was named vice president of West Coast development for United Artists. After serving in executive positions with Carson Films and 20th Century- Fox, Nasatir relocated to New York in 1983. She formed Marcia Nasatir Productions, based in New York, in 1984.
