is an interview with Thomas Jennings wherein he outlines the family history, details his first-hand experience of the 1906
earthquake, and discusses the development of what is now the city of Atherton, California.

Biographical/Historical note
Isabel Anita Jennings (b. 01/19/1895) and Thomas M. Jennings are the children of George Jennings (b. 02/07/1862) and Annie
Duncan (b. 10/24/1856). Isabel Jennings married Richard Hunt Goldsmith, they divorced in 1953.
The papers came from Winston Churchill Black, Attorney at Law. A letter enclosed with the papers states that “Isabel’s mother
and Albert Fowler’s mother were sisters, their last name being Duncan.”

Library. Topics include a family history, a personal account of the 1906 earthquake, and the development of the area now known
as Atherton, California. Interview conducted on 03/31/1971 (19 pages).
