Description
The Ben Hamilton collection spans the years 1911-1975 and encompasses 5 linear feet. The collection includes correspondence, fan scrapbooks, and miscellany. The correspondence includes letters written to Lily May Caldwell, who worked for various newspapers in Birmingham, Alabama from at least 1945 to 1965. Of note is a script for TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON (1956) autographed by the cast and crew. The provenance of the collection is unclear. Hamilton may have collected some of the material himself or it may have been among archival material he acquired for his book business.
