Abstract: The Hayden Memorial Library at Citrus College archive Collection contains photographs, yearbooks (1899-1965), scrapbooks,
newspaper clippings, school newspapers, books, ephemera and information that document the history of Citrus College, and depicting
people, buildings and events of the City of Azusa and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley. The collection covers the years
1890s to 1990.

Biography/Administrative History
Citrus Union High School District bears the honor of being the first union high school district to be organized in the State
of California. The election for organization took place on July 14, 1891. At that time the Union included the school districts
of Glendora, Azusa City, and Azusa, the latter district extending below the present city of Covina. At a regular meeting on
June 5, 1915, the Trustees of Citrus Union High School voted to establish the Junior College.

The collection contains over 300 photographs that document the history of Citrus College including the City of Azusa covering
the years 1890s to 1990.
