Background
Citrus Union High School District bears the honor of being the first union high school district to be organized in the State
of California. The election for organization took place on July 14, 1891. At that time the Union included the school districts
of Glendora, Azusa City, and Azusa, the latter district extending below the present city of Covina. At a regular meeting on
June 5, 1915, the Trustees of Citrus Union High School voted to establish the Junior College.
