Abstract: The artificial collection contains over 800 photo postcards of California (excluding San Francisco) collected by the San Francisco History Center, San Francisco Public Library. The postcards range in date from the early 1900s to 1950s. Collection includes over 100 photo postcards of Yosemite National Park. Places represented are significant California buildings, businesses, and hotels as well as many general views. Photo postcard photographers and publishers include Alexander Johnston (Zan), Piggott, Pillsbury Picture (Pillsbury, Arthur Clarence), and Marsh-Garvin Co.

The postcards range in date from the early 1900s to 1950s. Collection includes over 100 photo postcards of Yosemite National Park. Places represented are significant California buildings, businesses, and hotels as well as many general views. Photo postcard photographers and publishers include Alexander Johnston (Zan), Piggott, Pillsbury Picture (Pillsbury, Arthur Clarence), and Marsh-Garvin Co. Some postcards have handwritten inscriptions and are stamped and posted.
