Biographical / Historical
The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is a political organization founded by James P. Cannon in 1938.
Pedro (Peter) Camejo (1939-2008) joined the Socialist Workers Party in 1967. After returning from Venezuela in the early 1980s, Camejo was expelled
from the party after patitioning to rejoin. He went on to found the North Star Network (NSN) in 1983, which later disbanned.
Camejo went on to run in the state gubernatorial election in California for the California Green Party in 2002 and 2006.
Walter Lippmann joined the Socialist Workers Party in 1967. After being an active member of the organization, in 1983 the Los Angeles branch
charged him with the act of indiscipline. He was later expelled from the party.
