    The postcard was found unlabeled inside a box in the Park's library stacks. It was accessioned as a field collection into the museum collection by San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park staff in 2014.

    The Lester Clement Barton postcard, circa 1912, (SAFR 24425, P14-005) is comprised of a postcard of the Victoria Harbor waterfront, British Columbia, Canada. The collection has been processed to the Collection level and is open for use.
    Contains a panoramic postcard of the Victoria Harbor waterfront, British Columbia, Canada, circa 1912. There is 1 unique image (color letterpress halftone postcard, 3.125 x 21.75 in.). Copyright 1912 by Lester Clement Barton, 1445 Monadnock Bldg., Chicago. The postcard is captioned, "Victoria Harbour, B.C., showing Parliament Buildings and Empress Hotel." Two passenger steamships are docked, port broadside view, on the far side of the harbor. The Canadian Pacific Railway steamship terminal building is above the bow of the steamship on the left. Piers for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and for Evans, Coleman and Evans Ltd. are along the foreground. A freighter is docked at the Evans, Coleman and Evans Ltd. pier. Small craft are moored on the left. "109448" and "JV" are written in the lower right corner.
