Jennie Shattuck was married to William Frank Holmes, Sr., “whose family were Sonoma County Pioneers (Henderson and Calvin Holmes, his father—reportedly the first white men to drive cattle across the plains, settling near Santa Rosa and later in Knights Valley)”. (Source: Donation letter from donor, June 19, 1989.)

Scope and Contents note

Autograph book belonging to Jennie H. Shattuck, which was given to her upon her graduation from San Francisco’s Girls High School (1876). Includes personal messages from her friends as well as black-and-white and color illustrations.
