Collection documents the UCSF Department of Anatomy and Dr. Herbert McLean Evans, who served as department chair from 1915-1934.
Background
The Department of Anatomy was part of the original Toland Medical College. At the beginning of the 20th century, the department
reorganized the teaching program and established courses in histology, microscopic organology, neurology, regional anatomy,
and organogenesis, as well as special courses and research for physicians and advanced students.
