Abstract: This collection comprises documentation from Thesaurus Linguae Graecae Project (TLG) research unit at the University of California,
Irvine, one of the world's first humanities computing, or digital humanities, projects. The collection includes early computer
programming instructions for the TLG's Ibycus system, user instructions, user surveys, office and subject files. The user
surveys were conducted in 1985, 1991, and 1998 and address user satisfaction and scholar use of the TLG CD-ROMs. Office files
include advisory committee materials, clippings, correspondence, planning materials, conference materials, and other subject
files. Additional materials include documentation of computer programming for text searching, the Ibycus system, and data
entry instructions and related documentation, as well as volume 5 of the TLG CD-ROM.

Series Scope and Content Summary
This box contains documentation from Thesaurus Linguae Graecae user surveys. One general user survey was conducted in 1985
and its documentation includes a blank questionnaire and a summary of responses. The other two surveys were completed circa
1991 and 1998. The circa 1991 survey addresses user satisfaction and the ways in which scholars are using TLG CD-ROMs. The
1998 survey addresses TGL CD-ROM license fees. These materials include individual responses from all over the globe. It also
includes one flier.
