Abstract: This small leatherbound notebook bears the name "C. L. Brown, Esq., Master Mechanic, E.R.R." [Erie Railroad?] on the front endpapers. [Initials may be incorrect.] Entered in ink are two alphabetical sequences of railroad employees, one for locomotive engineers, the other for locomotive firemen. Mr. Brown apparently recorded the number of the locomotive to which the person was assigned, years of experience, and rate of pay. At the end of the notebook there is a list of "A. & G.W. R.
