Description
Memorial on the death of Edward Shea Gaver, a life member of the Society of California Pioneers. Born January 5, 1831 in Columbus, Ohio. Joined a company from Columbus and set out overland from St. Joseph, Mo in May of 1849. Arrived California in Sept 1849. Mined on the Feather River and Parks Bar on the Yuba River. Elected to State Legislation from Yuba County in 1855. Joined the California Stage Company in 1858. Moved to San Francisco in 1866. Worked with the US Mint until his death on Aug 21, 1887.
