Abstract: Geri DePaoli is an artist and art historian. The collection contain materials related to her work on two exhibitions, The Trans Parent Thread: Asian Philosophy in Recent American Art, which was organized by the Hofstra Museum, Hofstra University and the Edith C. Blum Art Institute, Bard College and Elvis + Marilyn: 2 x Immortal which was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Included are proposals, correspondence, research materials, conference materials, and educational program materials.

Biography

Geri DePaoli is an artist and art historian, as well as a teacher and curator. She received her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Scope and Content

The collection contains files related to her work on the Trans Parent Thread exhibition including: early proposals, correspondence, research materials, conference materials, and educational program materials. This exhbit was organized by the Hofstra Museum, Hofstra University and the Edith C. Blum Art Institute, Bard College.
Also included are materials related to the Elvis + Marilyn: 2 x Immortal exhibition which was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston from November 2, 1994-January 8, 1995. These files contain promotional materials, educational program materials, as well as materials related to the Icons of Popular Culture Conference which was held at Georgetown University.

This series contains files related to the Trans Parent Thread exhibition including: early proposals, research materials, conference materials, slides, and educational program materials. The correspondence files contain, among other letters, three letters by Gary Snyder from January 12, 1990, March 14, 1990 and August 6, 1990. Also included are interviews (on cd) of the following people: Robert Arneson, John Baldessari, David Hockney, Brant Larsen, Alastair Noble, Gordon Onslow-Ford, Cornelia Shulz, and Gary Snyder, as well as Notes from Its It Magazine.
