Description
Collection of 74 color slides from the early 1940s, San Francisco. The majority of the collection are 62 color slides that document the 1940 Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island, San Francisco.
Background
The amateur photographer was Ray Mitchell Mann, Jr. born in 1917 in Oregon. Mann lived in Monterey County most of his life. When he attended the Golden Gate International Exposition, he was 20 years old, a resident of Salinas and worked as a clerk. Mann passed away in Pacific Grove in 1994.

Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish must be submitted in writing to the Photo Curator. Permission for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.
