poetry-as-literature courses. The Sandra McPherson Papers contain her literary publications, the majority of which are her

Sandra McPherson was born in 1943 in San Jose, California. She received a B.A. from San Jose State University and completed
graduate work at the University of Washington.
Before joining the faculty of the English Department at the University of California, Davis in 1985, she taught for four years
in the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and served as Holloway Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. At
Davis, McPherson taught creative writing and poetry-as-literature courses.
The Sandra McPherson Papers contain her literary publications, the majority of which are her published poems. Also included
are interviews of McPherson, reviews of her writings, as well as sources that mention her work.
The collection is arranged in three series: Works by Sandra McPherson, About Sandra McPherson and Her Works, and Correspondence.
