Description
The collection comprises prints of photographs by gay photographer and artist Andrew J. Epstein. The majority of the materials, including photographs and text panels, were part of the 2009 exhibition "Queer Culture: The Photographs of A.J. Epstein." The photographs document LGBT communities in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, 1968-2009.
Background
Andrew J. (A.J.) Epstein is a photographer and artist. Since the late-1960s, he photographed LGBT communities and events in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has also worked as an art director and graphic designer for numerous publications.

All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the ONE Archivist. Permission for publication is given on behalf of ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at USC Libraries as the owner of the physical items and is not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be obtained.
