Abstract: Correspondence, awards, photographs, and clippings, 1977-2006, from lesbian activist Ann Bradley. Bradley is known for creating
and producing the Lesbian Writers Series at A Different Light Books in Los Angeles. The bulk of the collection contains correspondence
and clippings on gay and lesbian rights, same-sex marriage, a boycott of Colorado businesses, and Officer Mitchell Grobeson's
discrimination suit against the Los Angeles Police Department.

Biography
Ann Bradley was born in San Francisco and moved to Los Angeles, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at California
State University Los Angeles. She is known for creating and producing the Lesbian Writers Series at A Different Light Books
in Los Angeles beginning in 1984. She worked as a publicist in arts, social justice, LGBT, animal rights, and environmental
fields. In 2011, she was Executive Producer of the Focus Features film,
Pariah.

Scope and Contents
The collection includes correspondence, awards, photographs, and clippings, 1977-2006, from lesbian activist Ann Bradley.
Photographs and other materials document the Lesbian Writers Series and visiting authors at A Different Light Books. The bulk
of the collection is correspondence and clippings on gay and lesbian rights, same-sex marriage, a boycott of Colorado businesses,
and Officer Mitchell Grobeson's discrimination lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department. The collection also includes
scripts and programs from the play
Warren in which Bradley performed, and a photograph of a 1992 action against the film
Basic Instinct, organized by the Los Angeles Chapter of ACT UP.
