    Biography

    Ray Burns lived in Studio City, California, and worked for the gas company in downtown Los Angeles. He was born in 1922 and died in 2006. Art Miyashima was a decorated World War II veteran. He was born in 1931 and died in 1996.

    The postcards are organized first, followed by the photographs. The photographs are arranged in approximate chronological order by date.

    Scope and Contents

    Five postcards and 85 color photographs documenting the life of Ray Burns and Art Miyashima, 1967-2001. Burns and Miyashima's photographs include images of Christmas, birthday, and other social gatherings; travel across the United States and world; and their homelife. Three of the postcards are addressed to Burns from Miyashima, while the other two are addressed to Miyashima and Burns from others.
